What's more is that this service is absolutely free! No costs are added to our 1/2 day and full day flexi-ride options, delivery is complimentary.

A Question we get asked a lot is "where should I ride?" and "where is the best place to meet you?" So, in this new article, we discuss the best places you can meet our deliveries team to begin your epic E-Bike adventure and what trails these hot spots give you access to.

If you're planning an unforgettable Whizzy E-Bike adventure in Queenstown and the surrounding areas, choosing the right trail and meeting spot is key. You’ll want somewhere with easy trail access, plenty of parking (preferably free), and stunning scenery to kick off your ride.

Here are five of the best spots that tick all the boxes and offer something unique, whether it’s lakeside cruising, riverside trails, or historic charm, so grab your helmet and let’s dive in.

First up is Frankton Beach, a prime starting point for riders looking to hit the Kelvin Heights Peninsula Loop or depending on time, rides along the Twin Rivers or Shotover Gorge Trails. With plenty of free parking and direct access to the Frankton Track, it’s perfect for a scenic warm-up along the water before connecting to more challenging trails. The views across Lake Whakatipu are unbeatable, and if you’re heading toward town or the Kelvin Peninsula, this spot keeps things smooth and traffic-free. Make sure to stop in at the Hilton for refreshments, serving wine in the Pinot Pit on a warm beautiful afternoon.

Queenstown is about a 20 minute ride and it would take you around 1.5-2hrs to complete the Kelvin Heights Loop, but with added photo or snack stops we'd recommend giving yourself a bit longer. The ever growing Queenstown Marina is a great place for a pit stop and now houses Wet Jacket Winery as well as numerous eateries. Opposite the Marina, Altitude Brewery is a local favourite and deals in the fine art of Craft Beers! An ever-changing menu plus delicious food trucks onsite mean you're never thirsty or hungry when visiting.

Next up, Lake Hayes Pavilion is another winner, especially for those who love a peaceful ride with mirror-like lake reflections. The parking is easy, and from here, you can join the Lake Hayes Loop and branch off toward Arrowtown via the Countryside Trail and a quick but hilly 30 minute ride. It’s a great mix of relaxed cruising and longer-distance options. You also have close access to the Twin Rivers trail in either direction and can easily reach Ayrburn or Millbrook for a bite to eat.

For something with a bit more adrenaline, the Kawarau Suspension Bridge is a must. Known as the home of Bungy Jumping, this spot also offers access to a fantastic trail along the Kawarau River and through Gibbston Valley's award winning wine region. Park for free and take your time riding through the wineries and back to your car, or head out along the Arrow River Bridges Trail to Arrowtown.

Tucker Beach Car Park near Frankton is a hidden gem for those who want to explore the Shotover Gorge or River Trails. The wide, gravel paths are ideal for all skill levels, and the surrounding landscape of rocky outcrops and braided riverbeds makes for an epic backdrop. The Shotover Gorge Trail is the newest part of the Queenstown Trail Network's 150+kms of gravel trail and gives you access to the Hugo Tunnel and the Kimi Akau Bridge, both well worth a visit.

Finally, Arrowtown’s Ramshaw Lane carparks put you right at the gateway to some of the best riding in the region. Free parking means you can unload and hit the trails without hassle and we'll be close by to meet you with your bikes and get you set for your adventure. Whether you’re heading up the breathtaking Arrow River Bridges Trail to Gibbston or venturing further along the Wharehuanui Trail back towards Frankton and Queenstown, you'll not be dissapointed with your starting position. Ayrburn, Millbrook and Lake Hayes are all within shouting distance for food and drink and you've got the renound Arrow Bakery at the end of Buckingham Street for great pies and pastries.

A much overlooked fact about Arrowtown is that it sits around 400m higher in altitude than Queenstown so guests riding nearly anywhere from Arrowtown, are in fact, going downhill and by some considerable distance. Don't let that fool you in to thinking it's flat though, because it certainly isn't and your legs will definitely thank you for the E-Bike power assist!

No matter where you end up, you'll be riding some of the worlds best trails in a spectacular part of New Zealand's South Island. All of these great spots have a good amount of free parking available and are extremely close (if not on) the trails, making using Whizzy's mobile E-Bike delivery service a sure fire winner.

If you'd like to park and ride one way, make sure to call us and request shuttle transport from the end of your ride. We have a dedicated shuttle running between Gibbston and Queenstown twice in the afternoon. Limited seats mean first come-first served but the option is there should you like a longer ride out or just want to spend the day in the wineries and not worry about riding back to your car.

Make sure to check out our Trails Directory for full, informative write-ups on all of the local Queenstown Trails, what to expect and the difficulty levels associated with each.
